The Race To Europia

As leadership in this country continues to look to Europe for answers, we can only assume, “that which ye seek, ye shall find”. If this is to be the role model of the majority leadership in this country, President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Read, let’s take a look at exactly what the future may hold from this star struck group.

We are constantly told by many in the press, and the current administration, that Europe is an essential Utopia of answers to what plagues us as a nation. Let’s take a look at one of the European fluff pieces in Time, dated March 8, 2010, and written by Simon Robinson. In an article titled “The Incredible Shrinking Europe”, Robinson starts out by mentioning the Lisbon Treaty and the fact that Last November the European Union selected its first real President and Foreign Minister.

In his article Robinson makes the statement “Let’s get one thing straight: Europe is a remarkably good place to live.” He continues, “Workers in Europe usually enjoy long vacations, generous maternity leave and comfortable pension schemes. Universal health insurance is seen as part of the basic social contract. Europe is politically stable, the most generous donor of development aid in the world. Sure, taxes can be high, but most Europeans seem happy to pay more to the state in return for a higher — and guaranteed — quality of life." (And guaranteed quality of life???)

Now... Let's take a look at some of the things that Mr. Robinson did not share with us. First a little history. The Lisbon Treaty was signed by the EU member states on December 13, 2007 and put into effect on December 01, 2009. It amended the Treaty on European Union (1992) and the Treaty establishing the European Community (1957). There were many other treaties in the years between the ones mentioned, but it would require much greater time and space to cover in this article. We will mention the "European Central Bank" took the place of the EMI (Economic and Monetary Union) on June 1, 1998 but did not take full powers until they introduced the Euro (European dollar) on January 1, 1999.

Now, what did all of these meetings and treaties that caused member Nations to give up their countries sovereignty get them? How about 31% unemployment in the 27 member states (countries). As a bonus they currently have a GDP (Gross Domestic Product) growth of 0.7% predicted for the upcoming year (according to another Time article). Unemployment reports cite that they (the EU) has a combined unemployment rate of 9.9% but according to their OWN figures cited from their November 2009 meetings they acknowledge the current employment rate to be at 69% (31% unemployed). Seems they have a lot of people not seeking employment with the aid of their great social programs, so they do not show up as unemployed. Great news! In their own 10 year plan they hope to reach 75% employment (25% unemployed in 10 years!). Now that's a goal! It will be the first positive goal that they have met since the formation of the EU in 1992.

As bad as the U.S. economy is with the loss of 7.3 million jobs since December of 2007, we had fourth quarter GDP growth of 5.9% last year. Meanwhile the Euro area enjoyed a 0.1% growth in the GDP during the same period, China grew at 10.7% and India at 7.2% during the fourth quarter. As India and China continue to migrate toward more capitalist societies, all the while increasing their uses of evil fossil fuels (energy is the backbone of any economy), we are intent to adopt the E.U.'s social and energy policies. The Europe 2020 plan focuses on honing the E.U.'s technological edge, especially in green industries. Is it any wonder that they (the E.U.) are at the center of the global push to control carbon credits by hook or crook? Our leadership is trying to get us to drink the Kool-Aid as they push for "Cap and Trade" legislation that will cripple the economy by the penalization for CO2 emissions and destroy private rights to live in a true free manner. Watch Candidate Obama in 2007 and listen closely. Don't buy into their "Green Jobs" lies. You can find that legislation here but it comes with this warning from the site; This bill is very large, and loading it may cause your web browser to perform sluggishly, or even freeze. This is especially true for old and/or bad browsers. You can look for it to have the same effect on our economy and you should take note of ALL that voted for this horrible legislation and vote them out in their next election. If they get their way with Socialized health-care and corporate and individual carbon credits, we will find ourselves enjoying Europia and all of the benefits it has to offer. I wonder what organization is backing that "Guaranteed Quality of Life", and how one might seek a return to the good old days.

In closing all I can say is that, "We Had Better Read The Fine Print" or we will suffer severe buyers remorse and then hand over the payment book to our children and grand-children. Shame on us if we buy into the lies that destroy our sovereignty, take away our freedoms, and indenture our children to unnecessary debt caused by falsified and misleading misrepresentations of some in the scientific community, and politicians seeking ultimate control. Don't drink from their cup of lies when so many have so much to gain, and this country and its citizens have so much to lose.

In the first video (2007) candidate Obama is using recent events like droughts as proof of global warming. In the second video (2010) President Obama is explaining how we cannot pay attention to all of the record snows and cold that we have experienced this winter as proof that global warming does not exist. I did not graduate from Harvard Mr. President but using good old Hillbilly Logic tells me you can't have it both ways. It is disgraceful how he plays the victim by stating that the "conservatives yell at him" at their conventions. How un-presidential he looks doing this. Note to President; You are the leader of the most powerful country in the world (currently), quit acting like a victim every time you face opposition.

The one thing that is consistent in both of these videos is his touting that you have to drive up energy prices to force changes in choice on the citizens and companies. It is not about the environment as much as it is about ideology and control.
Just wait until they are in control of your health-care.
